In this video, we'll walk you through the process of applying Watco ArmourGrip to achieve the ultimate anti slip surface that can be used inside or out. The combination of one thick layer of heavy duty, high build epoxy resin, topped with an incredibly hard Iron silicate grit achieves a safe floor surface that will last for years. The attractive black, mid-gloss finish takes constant forklift traffic with ease, making it ideal for heavily used aisle ways, ramps or loading bays where a safe, anti-slip surface that won’t wear away is required.

By the end of this video, you'll know exactly how to create the ultimate high strength, anti slip floor with Watco ArmourGrip

How to Paint high traffic, exterior surfaces with Watco ArmourGrip for a high strength, anti slip finish

STEP 1 – PREPARATION

  • Thoroughly clean the surface to ensure it is free of dust and dirt.
  • Mask out the area to be painted with masking tape to ensure clean, even edges.
  • If the concrete is new or bare, remove surface laitance, dust and any light dirt or grease deposits using Watco Etch & Clean.
  • For the removal of heavier deposits of oil and grease we recommend Watco Concroff.
  • If applying to hard, smooth, powerfloated concrete use Watco Powerfloat Primer.

STEP 2 – MIXING

  • Remove the two inner tins.
  • Stir the content of both tins thoroughly.
  • Pour the mixed components into the larger tin.
  • Stir thoroughly until a consistent colour is achieved.
  • Scrape around the inside of the tin to remove all the contents.
  • Pour the coating into the plastic scuttle for immediate use.

STEP 3 – APPLICATION

  • Use a paint brush to cut in around the edges of the surface.
  • Apply using a medium pile roller.
  • We recommend working in 1m wide strips, starting at the back and working towards the front.
  • Immediately scatter the grit onto the wet coating.
  • Aim for complete coverage, so none of the coating can be seen.
  • Once the coating is completely covered, roll over the coating with a clean, dry roller.
  • Once cured (16 hours at 20C), sweep away loose or excess grit.
