How to Achieve Heavy Duty Floor Protection with Epoxicote High Build.

What you'll need:

  • Watco Epoxicote High Build
  • Watco Painting Kit:
  • 12“ Roller Frame & Telescopic Handle
  • Plastic Scuttle
  • 2“ and 5“ Paint Brush
  • Electric Drill fitted with Mixing Blade

STEP 1 – PREPARATION

  • Thoroughly clean the surface to ensure it is free of dust and dirt.
  • If the concrete is new or bare, remove surface laitance, dust and any light dirt or grease deposits using Watco Etch and Clean.
  • We recommend mechanically abrading powerfloated floors using a diamond floor grinder. This creates a key on the floor surface to ensure the paint bonds well.
  • If applying to hard, smooth, powerfloated concrete use Watco Epoxicote High Build Primer to prevent air bubbles and promote good adhesion.

STEP 2 – MIXING

  • Remove the two inner tins.
  • Pour the components into the larger outer tin.
  • Stir thoroughly until even in colour and consistency.
  • Pour the coating into a plastic scuttle for immediate use.

STEP 3 – APPLICATION

  • Use a paint brush to cut in around the edges of the surface.
  • Apply using a medium pile roller.
  • Tip: Spiked shoes allow you to walk on the coating without marking the finish.
  • Best results are obtained in warm (minimum 15°C), dry conditions with good ventilation.
  • The coating will darken slightly as it cures, and it should not be over rollered.
  • One coat is usually sufficient. Do not exceed the maximum coverage of 18m² per 4L pack.
