Making floors, steps and ramps safe - inside and out

Choosing the right anti slip coating isn’t always straightforward.
• Is the floor slippery from water or grease?
• Is the surface on a slope?
• Is it a food production area which needs to be kept clean?
A traditional ‘gritty’ non slip finish can be difficult to clean but a finer texture may not be anti slip enough if there is grease or oil on the floor. Safety Coat is a unique, slip resistant epoxy resin coating. A pre-blended plastic bead is held in suspension in the liquid, and when applied by roller, it provides a finely textured surface which is easy to keep clean. The finish is superior to a traditional gritty surface since the texture is entirely even – very different to a paint which has sand or grit thrown onto the surface.
If you have a slip problem in colder areas (inside or out) or if you need to paint in the winter months, then Safety Coat Cold Cure makes the floor safe in colder temperatures, down to minus 10°C.
For steps, ramps and isolated greasy, oily or hazardous areas, Safety Grip® has a coarse texture which makes it an ideal solution. This 100% solids epoxy performs well on concrete, metal and wood. It is basically a pigmented glue (based on araldite) which holds the surface texture so firmly, it will keep a surface safe for years and years.
Applying a coating is not always possible, especially on busy outside steps where frequent access is required. Watco supplies a range of GRP products designed for steps, ramps and floors. They are an instant solution and extremely durable and long lasting. Firm-Step® Heavy Duty Step Covers and Sheets are guaranteed for 10 years.

The Surestep® range includes durable, self-adhesive anti slip tapes, treads and rolls. They are a quick convenient way of making steps and ramps safe and are ideal for slippery areas around machinery.
