Painting a floor is often an inconvenient and time-consuming exercise – cleaning the area, preparing and repairing the floor, applying the paint and allowing it to dry. To avoid re-painting before you have to, using quality products for a long lasting result is a good start – as the effort is the same whether using a cheap paint or a high-performance coating.
Epoxicote™ High Build is a great all-rounder. The 100% solids, two-part epoxy resin coating provides a thick, extremely hard wearing, glossy finish in just one coat. We have a range of formulations which will cope with application in cold weather, where extra rapid drying is required or where there’s a need for slip resistance.
Being one thick coat, means you can get the job done and the floor back into use faster.
A big advantage of this formulation is that it does not include water to make it cure, instead a chemical reaction takes places after the base and activator are mixed together which brings about rapid drying. This makes the product suitable for areas where there is poor ventilation, cold temperatures, or high humidity – all these factors can cause you problems if you are using a water-based epoxy resin paint.
Surfaces should be clean and dry. We have user friendly cleaners and primers for difficult substrates, and offer full advice for painting new or old floors, painted or bare concrete, clean or contaminated floors.
Painting a used floor will tend to highlight surface damage. Chips and scratches which probably didn’t show up before will be more obvious. Our repair products range from a paste which is smeared into minor surface defects for an ultra-professional finish, to repair mortars for larger holes, surface damage or broken joints. They are all easy to use and dry quickly to allow you to get on with painting.

The two parts of the epoxy resin mix easily in the outer mixing tin. The catalyst that causes the paint to harden generates some heat, so tip the mixed paint into a roller tray to help keep it cool. Use a paint brush for the edges and a medium pile roller for the floor.
The thick, creamy consistency spreads easily and evenly, and looks and feels like a superior quality coating as you use it.
Just one coat is needed. leave until the next day to dry. The floor will look good and will last for years. it will take forklifts and chemical spillages, shrug off tyre marks and easily wipes clean.
