with Heavy Duty Anti Slip Traffic Paint
Watco Heavy Duty Anti Slip Traffic Paint is a tough, two pack, solvent based, epoxy resin coating for transforming dull, drab asphalt, tarmac and concrete in heavy wear areas. This exceptionally strong coating contains a solvent which bites into asphalt surfaces and slightly penetrates concrete surfaces, for the maximum possible adhesion. The hard aluminium oxide grit offers a good level of slip and abrasion resistance with just one high build application. Curing time is approximately 8 hours at 20°C (light traffic). It is also available in a smooth version.
Ensure that the substrate is free from dust and dirt.
If the concrete is new or bare, remove surface laitance, dust and any light dirt or grease deposits using Watco Etch & Clean.
Mark out the area to be painted with masking tape to ensure clean, even edges.
Remove the three inner tins. Stir the content of the tins thoroughly using a Watco Mixing Stick. Scrape around the inside of the tins to remove any residue.
Mix in the anti slip aggregate and stir thoroughly until a consistent colour is achieved. You can then pour the coating into a scuttle ready for immediate use.
Apply one coat with a Medium Pile Roller (not foam) working well into the surface of the asphalt or concrete. It can be applied by brush but this may result in reduced coverage. Do not exceed the maximum coverage of 20m² per 5L pack.
If a second coat is needed, apply immediately once dry. This is generally after 6 hours and must be within 5 days of the first coat.
In approximately 8 hours the surface is ready to use. Avoid washing the surface for 7 days.
