How to paint heavily trafficked floors in only one day with Watco Fastcoat

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Watco Fastcoat
  • Watco Painting Kit:
  • 12" Roller, Frame & Handle
  • Plastic Scuttle
  • 5" Paint Brush & 2" Paint Brush
  • Mixing Stick
  • Electric Drill fitted with Mixing Blade

STEP 1 - PREPARATION

  • Thoroughly clean the surface to ensure it is free of dust and dirt.
  • If the concrete is new or bare, remove surface laitance, dust and any light dirt or grease deposits using Watco Etch & Clean.
  • If the surface has heavy deposits of grease or oil, use Watco Concroff or for painted surfaces, Watco Bio-D.

STEP 2 - MIXING

  • Remove the three inner tins.
  • Stir the contents of the tins thoroughly.
  • Use a spatula or similar wide bladed tool (a piece of wooden batten is ideal).
  • Pour the mixed components into the larger outer tin.
  • Mix thoroughly with a mixing blade until even in colour and consistency.
  • Pour the coating into a plastic scuttle for immediate use.

STEP 3 - APPLICATION

  • Use a paint brush to cut in around the edges of the surface.
  • Apply by short pile roller (not medium pile or foam) and work well into the surface.
  • Avoid applying to paint too thickly as this will result in reduced coverage.
  • Immediately sprinkle the anti slip aggregate evenly onto the wet coating.
  • Using the same roller, roll over the sprinkled aggregate to bed in and create an even finish.
