How to achieve a smooth, strong, high gloss surface with Watco Resiflow

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Watco Resiflow
  • Watco Painting Kit:
  • 12" Roller, Frame & Handle
  • Plastic Scuttle
  • Foam Rubber Squeegee or Notched Trowel
  • Electric Drill fitted with Mixing Blade
  • Spiked Roller

STEP 1 - PREPARATION

  • Thoroughly clean the surface to ensure it is free of dust and dirt
  • If the concrete is new or bare, remove surface laitance, dust and any light dirt or grease deposits using Watco Etch & Clean
  • If the surface has heavy deposits of grease or oil, use Watco Concroff or for painted surfaces, Watco Bio-D
  • If applying to open textured, or very porous surfaces, prevent air bubbles by priming the surface using Watco 4 Hour Epoxy Primer

STEP 2 - MIXING

  • Remove the two inner tins and powder from the outer bucket
  • Stir the content of the tins thoroughly
  • Pour the coloured resin back into the outer bucket
  • Pour the curing agent back into the outer bucket
  • Mix using a mixing blade fitted to a slow speed electric drill
  • When thoroughly mixed add the fine powder blend, mixing for 2-3 minutes until even in colour and consistency
  • Pour the coating into a plastic scuttle for immediate use

STEP 3 - APPLICATION

  • Working in sections of 5m², pour the mixed coating onto the surface in ribbons
  • Spread evenly with a Foam Rubber Squeegee, or similar Notched Trowel
  • Best results are obrained in warm (minimum 15°C), dry conditions with good ventilation
  • Use a spiked roller to remove air bubbles and repeat a few minutes later if air bubbles continue to form
  • Do not spike roller the surface for longer than 20 minutes
  • Do not wash or allow water to lie on the surface for at least 7 days
