    How To Apply
    Surface Preparation
Concrete Concrete to be treated must be at least four weeks old, completely dry and free of surface laitance (a weak dusty layer on concrete), contaminants and any previous poorly bonded coatings. All traces of grease or oil should be removed with Watco Bio D (or a similar emulsifying degreasant) and the area thoroughly washed off and allowed to dry. Very smooth concrete or concrete with surface laitance should be etched with Watco Etch and Clean to ensure adequate adhesion. Etch & Clean also effectively removes dirt and light oil deposits. The concrete should be thoroughly washed down and allowed to dry after treatment with Watco Etch & Clean. Watco Powerfloat Primer is available for highly polished or powerfloated surfaces.
Painted Surfaces Previously painted surfaces should be thoroughly abraded by sanding to improve adhesion and to remove any weak or loose material. A trial area is advisable to test compatibility with previous coatings.
Sand and Cement screed Avoid washing since this surface will absorb water. Remove dirt by sweeping and vacuuming if necessary. Apply one coat of Watco 4 Hour Epoxy Primer to reduce absorbency.
Metal Surfaces should be clean and dry. Galvanised surfaces should first be treated with Watco Galvaprime.
Wood Sand to remove any surface contamination.
Asphalt Asphalt/Tarmac surfaces should be at least 3 months old. Remove any grease and oil using Watco Bio D . Flush with water and allow to dry.

Remove the two inner tins from the tall outer tin. Stir the contents of each tin thoroughly and pour all of the contents into the outer tin (scrape around the inside of the tins to remove any residue). Mix the components together thoroughly using a spatula or similar wide bladed tool (a piece of wooden batten is ideal). Continue mixing until an even colour and consistency are obtained. Do not mix more than one pack at a time. If a paint stirrer fitted to an electric drill is used, also use the spatula to blend in any unmixed material from the sides and bottom of the tin.

Pour the mixed components into a paint scuttle and apply to the floor using a medium pile roller. Use a paint brush around the edges. Alternatively the mixed components can be poured directly onto the floor and distributed using a squeegee. Immediately finish using a roller. Immediately scatter the flake blend onto the Base Coat, ensuring that the Base Coat is entirely covered. Leave 4 hours to dry then then thoroughly sweep to remove excess flake. After the initial sweep, push a floor scraper blade across the floor at a 45° angle. This will knock off any sharp flake edges which have not laid flat. Sweep again to remove any residue of flake. A vacuum may make removing the residue easier. The surface is now ready to receive the Top Coat. Mix as described above for the Base Coat. Once mixed, the components can be used for 20 minutes at around 20°C.
