Description
Uses: warehouses, factories, production areas. Any concrete or similar surface where an easily cleaned surface is desirable.

    Watco Floor Shield provides a more easily cleaned and dust proofed surface on concrete and similar surfaces. Particularly easy to apply, Watco Floor Shield dries to a tough, low sheen finish and is suitable for areas subject to general industrial use.

    Coverage approx. 40m² per 5 litres per coat. Two coats are normally required.

    Surface Preparation

    General

    Surfaces should be clean, free of loose material and reasonably dry (slight dampness is acceptable).
    Concrete, Masonry and Sand/Cement Screeds
    A good sweep and/or vacuum is often sufficient on a dusty or slightly dirty surface. Watco Bio D may be used to remove dirt, light grease and oil. Undiluted Watco Bio D should be used for heavy grease and oil deposits. Avoid wetting very porous surfaces since they will absorb too much water. New concrete including power floated surfaces should be left for 14 days. Any traces of laitance (a weak dusty layer) should be removed by stiff brushing (acid etching is not recommended).

    Painted or Sealed Surfaces

    Watco Floor Shield may be applied to painted or sealed surfaces provided the surface is sound. Remove contaminants as described above. A trial area should be completed to test adhesion.

    Application

    No need to stir. Pour a little at a time direct from the container onto the floor and spread using a medium pile type roller or brush. Work well into the surface applying more if the solution rapidly ‘disappears’ into very porous, absorbent surfaces. For best results two coats are generally required depending upon the type and texture of the substrate. A third coat may be required on exceptionally porous surfaces including sand and cement screeds. The second or subsequent coats should be applied at 12 hour intervals.
