Uses: ideal for floors which can move slightly, such as mezzanines, around vibrating machinery or areas with structural expansion and contraction.

A flexible but hardwearing polyurethane coating with a textured finish to improve slip resistance.

  • Suitable for outdoor use
  • Good chemical resistance
  • Fills and bridges small cracks for an improved appearance

Although the product is not a substitute for a properly formed expansion joint, it can accommodate small movements and is better able to resist cracking than most floor coatings. It can be applied to asphalt that is at least six months old and to concrete.

Coverage approx. 5m² per pack. One coat is normally sufficient

    PREPARATION & APPLICATION

    Surface Preparation

    Concrete

Concrete to be treated must be at least four weeks old, completely dry and free of surface laitance (a weak dusty layer on concrete), contaminants and any previous poorly bonded coatings. All traces of grease or oil should be removed with Watco Bio D (or similar degreasant) and the area thoroughly washed off and allowed to dry. Very smooth concrete or concrete with surface laitance should be etched with Watco Cemtetch to ensure adequate adhesion. The concrete should be thoroughly washed down and allowed to dry after treatment with Watco Cemtetch.
    Stone

Stone should be dry and free of all loose surface material and contaminants.
    Painted Surfaces

Previously painted surfaces should be thoroughly abraded by sanding to improve adhesion and to remove any weak or loose material. A trial area is advisable to test compatibility with previous coatings.

    Bare Metal

Remove any rust and flaking material by disc grinding or wire brushing. Apply the coating immediately after preparation to the clean metal surface. Grease or oil can be removed using Watco Bio D - a solvent free degreaser. Allow the metal to dry before coating. Galvanised metal should be treated with Watco Galvaprime or similar galvanised metal primer.

    Mixing
The tall outer tin contains a tin of Resin and a tin of Activator. Remove these two tins and stir the contents of each thoroughly (The Watco Paint Mixer is ideal for mixing two part products). Decant both tins into the tall outer tin. The two components should then be very thoroughly mixed together using a wide bladed stirrer. A wooden batten at least 25mm wide is ideal. Mix for 2 – 3 minutes until an even colour and consistency are obtained. Best results are achieved in warm (minimum 10°C – 15°C) dry conditions with good ventilation. Do not mix in the anti slip aggregate.

    Application
Pour the mixed resin and hardener into a roller tray, apply the mixed resin and hardener to a measured area of 5m². Immediately sprinkle the anti-slip aggregate uniformly onto the wet coat to obtain the desired surface finish (total or light coverage). Using the same roller that was used to apply the mixed resin and hardener, roll over the sprinkled aggregate to bed in and cover the anti-slip aggregate. It is not normally necessary to recharge the roller with mixed resin unless very heavy quantities of aggregate have been applied.
