Description
Round glass beads are bound into a high build, clear epoxy resin to produce a durable, light reflective coating. Watco Clear Anti Slip Coating can be applied over bare substrates or well bonded decorative paint without significantly darkening the existing finish. For extra slip resistance in wet areas or on ramps, please refer to Watco Safety Grip.

  • Suitable for heavy use, including fork lift trucks
  • Suitable for industrial flooring
  • Suitable for concrete, metal or wood
  • Gives an easily cleaned, anti slip surface
  • Glossy, light reflective finish
  • Only one coat normally required

When applied to certain limestone and other substrates, salts in the stone can be drawn up to the surface under the paint coating, causing an unsightly appearance. Please call us on 01483 418 418 for a test sample before using the product on stone.

Coverage approx. 5m² per pack. One coat is normally sufficient.

  • PREPARATION & APPLICATION
    Surface Preparation: Concrete
Concrete must be dry, at least 4 weeks old and not subject to rising damp. All loose surface deposits should be removed. Watco Cemtetch may be used to remove surface laitance (a weak dusty layer on new concrete). Watco Concroff Super Safe removes grease and oil deposits. Washed surfaces should be allowed to dry before coating.
    Surface Preparation: Painted
Watco Clear Anti Slip Coating can be applied to existing well bonded paint. A slip resistant coating can impose stresses on an existing paint, which could cause adhesion failure unless it is well bonded. Hard, smooth painted surfaces should be lightly sanded to provide a key. Newly applied solvent based paint should be left for seven days before overcoating. Watco Clear Anti Slip Coating may be applied over Watco solvent free epoxy resin paints as soon as these paints have dried sufficiently to walk on. Most painted surfaces which are in reasonable condition can just be washed and allowed to dry before overcoating.
    Surface Preparation: Steel

Remove all surface contamination including rust and any old, flaking coatings. Wash and dry the surface. Apply the Watco Clear Anti Slip Coating as soon as possible after completing the preparation and before flash rusting occurs.

    Mixing
Remove the three inner tins from the tall outer tin. Pour the liquid contents of the two small tins (resin and hardener) into the larger outer tin and mix thoroughly until uniform in colour. Do not mix in the glass beads. The mixed components must be decanted into a shallow roller tray and used immediately. If the mixed components are not decanted, the mixing tin will quickly become very hot and could pose a hazard.

    Application
Best results are achieved in dry, warm (minimum 15°c) conditions, using a medium pile (not foam) roller. A brush may be used for cutting-in around edges. Pour the mixed resin and hardener into a shallow roller tray. Apply the mixture to a maximum area of 5m².
Immediately sprinkle the glass beads onto the wet surface. There are sufficient beads in each pack to lightly cover 5m².
